In 1985, he moved to New York City where he was involved in home video and television syndication until he discovered his natural ability to cook. He then embarked on what would become a thirteen-year career in the hospitality industry. After several culinary positions in New York, Ricky moved home in 1989 to co-own, consult, or have sole proprietorship of six local restaurant and nightclub establishments, most of which have enjoyed national press. After graduating from Temple University, Robert moved from the chilly winters up north down to New Orleans.
